Before & After care
You should be able to go about your normal routine right after your Botox treatment, however, there are a few things to keep in mind when planning for this treatment. Each individual laser treatment has it's own care requirements specific to the treatment/patient needs. Kelly will inform you during the consultation process what protocol, prep and after-care steps to follow.
Before Botox Cosmetic Treatment
To decrease the amount of bruising or swelling that might occur, avoid the following medications and supplements that can thin the blood:
Avoid Aspirin
Aspirin or aspirin containing products such as ibuprophen or aleave for one week prior to treatment.
Avoid Supplements
Supplements like fish oil, vitamin E, and turmeric for one week prior to treatment.
Avoid Alcohol
Alcoholic beverages for 24-48 hours prior to treatment.
*If you are receiving prescribed blood-thinners under the care of a medical provider, continue to take these medications as prescribed and please notify Artistry Medical Aesthetics when booking your aesthetics procedure.
After Botox Cosmetic Treatment
Don't touch!
Avoid touching, massaging, or otherwise applying pressure to the treated area for at least 72 hours after receiving your treatment. Don’t forget, this also includes hats, helmets, tight headbands, and snow goggles, to provide a few examples.
Don't lay down
Do not lay down for 4 hours after receiving your Botox treatment and avoid applying make-up if possible.
Avoid Excersize
Avoid vigorous exercise for 24-48 hours after your treatment.
Avoid Facials
Avoid facials, laying face down for a massage, or other facial treatments like lasers or peels for 2 weeks following your treatment.
Before Dermal Filler Treatment

Avoid dental procedures for 3 weeks prior to dermal filler treatment, including general cleaning.

Avoid receiving a vaccine for 3 weeks prior to your filler treatment, including the flu shot and shingles vaccine.

Dental
Postpone any dental procedures for at least 2 weeks following treatment.
Avoid Makeup
Avoid applying make-up within 12 hours of dermal filler treatment.
Avoid Exercise
Avoid vigorous exercise or extensive sun/heat exposure within 24 hours of treatment.
Avoid Heat & Cold
Avoid extreme cold or heat within 48 hours of your treatment.
Avoid Vaccine
Avoid receiving a vaccine for 3 weeks after treatment, including the flu shot and shingles vaccine.
Avoid Facials
Avoid facials, laying face down for a massage, or other facial treatments like lasers or peels for 2 weeks following your treatment.
Use Ice
Ice may be applied gently for a brief period following treatment to minimize any swelling that may occur.
